I will dominate 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua
The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming bout.
Ex two time world heavyweight champion Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Boxer's Mindset
"I'm going to damage his features and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to really want to hurt him. That's what I want to do."
Civil Exchange
In spite of such comments, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul instead criticized former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou rejected a fight offer.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.
"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.
Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly fought MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.
He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
However, the novice is still one of boxing's biggest financial successes, regularly earning massive paydays.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28-year-old anticipated a stoppage in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.
"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.
Physical Difference
As Joshua and Paul engaged in the traditional face-off, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how improbable this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the match is truly happening.
